We Would Never Change a Thing

We came to a place of unknowns knowing that the one thing we wanted most was to be parents.  After trying on our own and subsequently fertility treatments with no success it became for us about being "mom" & "dad" and not needing to be pregnant to get to there and that was when we happened upon Ellen Roseman and Cooperative Adoption.
 
I was doing my usual research trying to locate support for those considering adoption ... I found Ellen through a search on the internet and she spoke to me for well over 90 minutes on our first call together.  I knew in my heart we were lead here not by accident.  We came to one of the Saturday group meetings unsure what to expect and left feeling comforted that we were not alone (as we had felt through our years of trying to get pregnant) and how the other families working with Ellen were so much like us.
 
We realized after that first meeting that Ellen would be a guide to us down this uncertain path that she had a lot of experience and we sensed Ellen's gift for educating everyone involved in the process.
 
Now fast forward and here we are the proud parents of two daughters.  Our first daughter was born in July of 2006 and our second daughter was born in August of 2008.
 
The guidance and support we received from Ellen through our first journey to parenthood was something we knew we
would want when we were ready to have a second child and without any hesitation we worked with Ellen when adopting again.
 
Our journey to parenthood was not the original one we planned but we see that this is how it was meant to be.  All the twists and turns were made easier with the guidance of Ellen and helped to prepare us for the wonderful relationships we share with each of our girl's birthmothers and their extended families.  We know that our children cannot have too many people in their lives who love them and it has been our blessing to have our family expanded so seamlessly.
